European Film Awards 2022
As Head of Design at the European Film Academy, I led the visual direction of the European Film Awards 2022 in Reykjavík. I developed a cohesive visual identity across digital, print, stage, and broadcast, shaping how the event appeared both on-site and across international media. From the stage design to the backdrop seen in press photography, social media, and global publications, the visuals became a central part of how the event was experienced and remembered. The work balanced institutional prestige with a contemporary visual language, creating a unified and recognisable presence for one of Europe’s most significant film events.

Working closely with stage designers, motion designers, and artists, I directed the visual language across all touchpoints. A key highlight was the creation of eight large-scale illustrated backdrops, for which I developed the original illustration featuring the EFA identity. Installed across the red carpet, interview rooms, and press areas, these backdrops became central visual anchors of the event. Nominees and international film stars were photographed against them throughout the evening, generating extensive global media exposure and reinforcing the Academy’s visual presence worldwide.
